Unfortunately, the baptism of Is rael Mussen was not located in the IGI. Possbily these are the parents of Israel Mussen. St rength is lent to this present speculation because of the similarity in names i.e. Israel an d secondly because Peter and Sarah Stay had also named one of their children Rebecca."

Marriage of Peter Stay. This is a significant finding for two reasons first it places Pete r about 12-15 miles north north east of the primary study area in Lower Lytchett which is loc ated in Dorset, Canford Magna, where the marriage was registered, it is just a mile or so nor th of Lytchett. The second significant finding is the recording of Sarah's name to be "Mussen" not Muston a s recorded in the family records. We have looked for Sarah Muston for a considerable time t o no avail. This finding has helped us locate Sarah Musson's family.

This marriage is confirmed to be our Peter because of the children born at this location, An n born 21 Oct 1804 at Lytchett Minster, and Elisea born 25 Dec. 1806. The family records hav e never listed the birth location of these two children.

Researcher notes- The age given in both censuses corresponds with information located in the IGI and also the l ocation of two children, Rebecca and John helped to confirm the assumption that Peter did i n fact originate in Hordle. Secondly, Sarah is given as the wife of Peter in the 1841 Census . Peter's parents, Ann Aldredge (681) and Richard Stay (note: It has now been determined tha t Richard Stay and Ann Aldredge are the parents of Peter Stay.(5/29/2000)
