Mrs. Woodbury Funeral Mar 9 Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice Lambert Woodbury, 74, wife of Thomas H. Woodbury, who died Sunday at the family homes, 381 Garfield ave. After several years of illness, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in the Belvedere ward chapel, sixth East and Downington Ave. Bishop George Bowles may be viewed Officiating. Interment will be in the city cemetery. The body may be viewed at the residence Wednesday from 10 a. m. to 12: 30 p.m. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Thomas L. , Charles L. and Elias L. Woodbury. Mrs. Martha W. Ross, Mrs. Ella F. Osborne. Mrs. Catherine Dixon. Mrs Loretta Rogers, Mrs. Myrtle Doelle and Mrs. Annie Jensen; seven brother. Richard, David, Angus, Alma, William, Thomas and Isaac Lambert and three sisters Mrs. Leonora E. Waddell, Mrs. Sarah M. Shaw and Mrs. Elizabeth Porter. There are also thirty-four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Mrs. Woodbury was born in Salt Lake, July 14 1852, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Alice Cannon Lambert. Her mother who was a pioneer, was physically handicapped due to an accident she suffered crossing the plains, and relied to a great extent on her daughter Mary Alice to assist in household management. A Church worker of long standing. Mrs. Woodbury held offices as a teacher in the Seventh ward Sunday School first counselor in the Young Ladies Retrenchment Society; assistant secretary and secretary in the Relief Society for 25 years in the Seventh ward, and later held other positions in the Relief societies of the Farmers Waterloo, Wells, and Belvedere Wards/ She did much temple work also and was a constant visitor at the homes of the sick, and was known for her sunny and cheerful disposition. She was married to Thomas H. Woodbury, June 10, 1872 in the Endowment house, and from the union came 13 children, nine of whom survive. [BACK] |
