Baltzat H.Jacobson
L.D.S.C. Language Instructor Dies

Baltzat H. Jacobson, 50, 3351 Highland Dr. First Rhodes Scholar from Utah, and instructor in modern languages at the L. D. S.  College, died in a Salt Lake Hospital Friday afternoon.
 Funeral services will be held in the Wilford ward chapel, Chapel Friends may call at the residence from 10 to 1:30 p.m. interment will by in the Mill Creek Cemetery.

 Mr. Jacobson was born in Madison, wis. Dec 17, 1879 and came to Utah when he was five years of age. In 1903 he was awarded the Rhodes scholarship while attending the University of Utah. He attended oxford University until 1907. Upon his return to Salt Lake, he became an instructor at the L. D.S. College, serving continuously as a member of the faculty, except in 1923, when he attended the University of Paris.

 Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rebecca stay Jacobson, and the following children: Rowena, Cecil B. Dorothy, Joseph, Leo O. Marie, Margaret, Catharine and Phylis, all of Salt Lake; a brother, J.D. Jacobson of Manti, and two sisters, Mrs. Katie Stone of Union and Mrs. Lovina Land of Sandy.
